Senior Scott Rubinstein and junior James Spaulding were selected as the University Athletic Association Men's Tennis Athletes of the Week Tuesday afternoon. It is the first time both players have earned UAA weekly honors in their careers.
The Emory duo captured All-America honors for the third straight season as they finished as the national runners-up in the NCAA Doubles Championships. The Emory duo topped the No. 3 seeded pairing from Whitman before defeating Chicago in the national semifinals. In the championship match, Spaulding and Rubinstein saw their run end, falling to Middlebury's team of Lubomir Cuba and Kyle Schlanger in straight sets. Rubinstein and Spaulding ended the campaign with an overall record of 23-13.
