Emory Men's Tennis Blanks Pomona-Pitzer In Semis Of ITA National Indoor Championships - Will Battle Chicago For Crown

The No. 4-ranked Emory men's tennis team came away with its second straight whitewash of an opponent on Saturday at the ITA National Indoor Championships.  The Eagles upped their spring record to 4-1 after registering a 9-0 victory in the semifinals over the No. 12 Sagehens. The competition is being held in Cleveland with Case Western Reserve serving as the host institution.

The No. 1 doubles team of seniors Jonathan Jemison and Adrien Bouchet raised their season record to 13-1 after dispatching Josh Gearou and Bellet De Giacomoni, 8-1. Sophomore Hayden Cassone and freshman Antonio Mora gave the Eagles a 2-0 advantage after their 8-2 victory against Avery Bicks and Charlie Stark at No. 3.  At second doubles, senior James Spaulding and sophomore Will Wanner closed out the sweep with an 8-4 verdict vs. Jansen Comadena and Jed Kronenberg.

Emory won five of the six singles encounters in straight sets with freshman Sahil Raina providing the Eagles with their clinching point after earning a 6-3, 6-1 win over Jacob Schoenherr at No. 6.

Emory will be aiming for its fourth straight National Indoor crown on Sunday when it matches up against No. 3-ranked Chicago starting at noon.
