Emory Men's Tennis Garners UAA & ITA Awards

The Emory men's tennis program was well represented on awards lists that were recently released by both the University Athletic Association and the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). 

The Eagles saw three players capture first- or second-team recognition on the all-league team while three were recognized for various ITA accolades.

Jonathan Jemison
1st Team All-UAA - #1 Singles
1st Team All-UAA - #1 Doubles
ITA Atlantic-South Region Senior Player of the Year

Jemison now has four All-UAA First Team honors in singles during his career and two straight at No. 1 … Enters the upcoming NCAA D-III Championships with an overall singles ledger of 20-4, 13-3 at the No. 1 post … Captured his fourth career All-UAA nod in doubles and second first-team selection … Is the fourth straight and eighth Emory player to be chosen as the Atlantic South Region Senior Player of the Year .. Has teamed with Adrien Bouchet to compile a 25-5 doubles mark, 17-4 at No. 1 … 93 singles wins ties for fourth all-time at Emory … Ranks first on the program's career chart with 103 doubles wins.

Bouchet has three All-UAA awards in singles during his career including a pair of first-team berths … Has amassed a 21-3 singles record this year with his win total pacing the squad … Enters the NCAA D-III Championships with wins in his last six decided matches … Stands 11th in singles winning percentage at Emory (.777, 77-22) … Initial All-UAA selection in doubles … Bouchet and Jemison have recorded a 25-5 record in doubles this year … Has 74 career victories in doubles.

Has chalked up an 18-3 effort in singles affairs, 9-1 at No. 4 … Enters the upcoming NCAA D-III Championships with wins in his last seven decided singles matches, second-longest streak on the team … Has joined forces with Hayden Cassone to give the Eagles a solid tandem at third doubles, turning in a 15-3 record at that spot, 17-4 overall … Is the fourth Emory player to have been selected the Atlantic-South Region Rookie of the Year

ITA Atlantic-South Region Player to Watch

Checks into the upcoming NCAA D-III Championships with a singles effort of 15-7, 11-5 at the No. 2 position … Has won his last five singles matches that have been decided including the team's clinching point in a 5-1 win over North Carolina Wesleyan in the third round of the NCAA Regionals … Claims a 17-4 record with Mora in doubles (15-3 at No. 3) with the duo 8-2 in their last 10 outings.

No. 3 Emory will battle No. 7 Washington University in the quarterfinals of the NCAA D-III Championships on Monday afternoon (May 20).  The Championships are being held in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
