Emory University sophomore Antonio Mora (Miami, FL) brought home a pair of first-place finishes at this past weekend's ITA South Region Championships.
Mora rattled of six wins en route to claiming the singles title, and then teamed with junior Will Wanner to win the doubles crown.
In Sunday's singles semifinals, Mora topped Andres Carro of the University of the South, 6-3, 6-1, before notching to a 6-4, 6-1 verdict over sophomore teammate Andrew Esses in the finals. In doubles, Mora and Wanner battled to a 6-4, 4-6, 10-8 triumph (rallied from 2-6 deficit) in the title match against North Carolina Wesleyan's Roberto Puig and Aditya Iyer.
By virtue of his first-place performances, Mora (and Wanner) earns All-America accolades and qualifies for the ITA Cup, Oct. 17-20, in Rome, Georgia.
