Emory Men's Tennis Wins Twice vs. Sewanee

The Emory men's tennis team opened its season on Saturday by capturing two wins over the University of the South.  The Eagles got their season off on the right foot, claiming a pair of 7-2 decisions over the Tigers.

The No. 1 doubles team of Hayden Cassone and Antonio Mora posted two wins, besting the Sewanee tandem of Liam Baer and Alejandro Becker, 8-4 in the opening match and 8-2 in the second.  At No. 2, senior Will Wanner and freshman Ryan Glanville emerged with two successful outcomes, topping Ryan Wax and Matt Barnett, 8-3, in the initial action of the day before posting a similar verdict against Jack Metzger and Peyton Erck.

In singles, junior Andrew Esses played his way to two wins, topping Ryan Olps, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 3 in the first contest before earning a win over Metzger at the No. 1 post in the afternoon encounter.  Senior Hassan Kenawi went 2-0, upending Becker at No. 5, 6-3, 7-5, before winning Noah Hosclow, 6-3, 6-1, in the second match.
