Emory Men's Tennis Preps For Two-Match Outing At Sewanee

Emory Men's Tennis Preps For Two-Match Outing At Sewanee

ITA Regional Rankings

The Emory University men's tennis team resumes play on Saturday (Apr. 24) when it tackles the University of the South twice.  The opening match against the Tigers is slated for an 11:00 am (EDT) start with the second affair scheduled to commence at 3:00 pm.

Head Coach John Browning and his squad will be competing for the first time since Mar. 26 when they suffered a setback to Georgia Gwinnett, the top-ranked team in the NAIA ranks.

Despite playing a limited number of competitions this spring, Emory was still tabbed as the No. 1-ranked squad in the Atlantic South Region as the NCAA released its first regional poll of the spring earlier this week.  Senior Hayden Cassone is slotted as the No. 1-ranked singles player while junior Antonio Mora is ranked 10th.  In addition, Cassone and Mora hold down the top spot in doubles.

Emory and Sewanee met earlier this year (Mar. 20) with the Eagles taking home a pair of 7-2 victories.

After matching up against the Tigers, the Eagles will play their first home match of the campaign on Apr. 28 when they welcome Georgia Gwinnett to the Woodpec Courts. Start time for that match is 1:30 pm.
