Emory Men's Tennis Takes Two From Sewanee

The Emory men's tennis team returned to action for the first time in nearly a month on Saturday, travelling to the University of the South where it earned a pair of victories over the Tigers.  The Eagles registered an 8-1 decision in the opener before posting a 7-2 verdict in the finale.  Emory now stands 4-1 on the spring while Sewanee slipped to 5-8.

Senior Alec Rabinowitz came away with three wins on the day, teaming with Hayden Cassone at No. 1 doubles with the duo topping Alejandro Becker and Peyton Erck, 8-6, in the first contest before registering an 8-5 triumph over Becker and Noah Holsclaw in the nightcap.  In singles, Rabinowitz bettered Jax Harbour, 6-3, 6-4, at the No. 5 spot in the second encounter of the day.  Sophomore William Coupe emerged with a pair of successful results in singles, topping Jackson Davis at No. 5 in the first match-up before moving up a couple of spots in the lineup and landing a 6-2, 6-2 win vs. Liam Baer.  Junior Pushkar Shinde enjoyed a productive day as well, defeating Harbour, 6-1, 6-2 at six singles in the opener and then Davis at No. 4, 6-4, 6-0.

Emory returns to action on Apr. 28 when it entertains Georgia Gwinnett College in a 1:30 pm start.
