Emory Men's Tennis Earns Bid To NCAA D-III Tournament

The Emory University men's tennis team has been selected as one of 37 teams to participate in the 2021 NCAA D-III Championships. The Eagles are part of a five-team pod that will compete this weekend (May 14-16) at the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College. It marks the 31st consecutive year that the Tournament has been played that Emory has advanced to the postseason. 

Emory (5-3) has drawn an opening-round bye and will start action on Saturday with a second-round battle against either Western Connecticut State (6-2) or John Carroll (7-0). The other second-round match-up will see Stevenson (6-2) take on Babson (6-0).  The third round will take place on Sunday with the victor moving on to the NCAA Championships, May 24-26, at Champions Tennis Club in Chattanooga, Tennessee.  Student-athletes selected to the individual championships will be announced Wednesday, May 12.

The times of the matches will be announced on Tuesday, May 11, on emoryathletics.com.

Emory has earned a spot in the national semifinals in 14 of the past 18 postseason event has won national crowns in 2003, 2006, 2012, 2017 and 2019.

Emory is one of five University Athletic Association schools competing in this year's NCAA Tournament.  Conference schools who will be joining the Eagles include Case Western Reserve, Washington University, Brandeis and the University of Chicago.
