The team finished the season ranked 68th nationally in the U.S
Track Coaches Association power poll.
Emory finished sixth out of seven teams at the University Athletic
Association indoor champions. The Eagles had three all-conference
(top-three finish) performances. Rob Leventhal won the 800-meter
run and Blake Staub took third place in both the 55-meter dash and
the 200-meter dash.
Leventhal's career-best time of one minute and 53.74 seconds at the
conference championships provisionally qualified him for the NCAA
national meet. He had the 13th fastest time in the nation this
season and missed officially qualifying for the national meet by
three one-hundredths of a second, giving him the fastest
non-qualifying time in the nation.
Leventhal's 800-meter run time of 1:53.74 at the UAA championships
is the third-fastest time in school history in this event. For the
season, he won four 800-meter races. Eagle runners have won the
800-meter run at the conference championships nine times since
1993.
Staub finished third in both the 55-meter dash and the 200-meter
dash with times of 6.74 seconds and 22.91 seconds, respectively.
This is the third consecutive year Staub has finished in the top
four in both of these events at the conference championships.
