2005-06 Men's Track & Field Diary Entries

March 10, 2006 - Jake Wheeler

Well, if the 70 degree weather isn't a clear sign that the outdoor season has just begun I don't know what is. Today marks 45 days until the UAA Outdoor Championships and we couldn't be more excited. This past weekend marked the end of our indoor season as we traveled to Chicago to compete in the UAA Indoor Championships. It marked the only time this year where the competition consisted of Division III schools, a striking contrast to the Division I dominated meets we have competed in all indoor season. Even though we didn't perform as well as we had hoped, the disappointing end to our indoor season will serve as great motivation for training for UAA Outdoors. The weather provides us with a huge advantage over the other schools in our conference, and we are capitalizing by training harder than ever. We are eager to make a statement at our first meet, the Emory Invitational, which involves a variety of very competitive, and highly successful, colleges and universities. With the outdoor season starting, and onl y two weeks until the Invitational, we are ready, and extremely excited, to get out and compete.
