EMORY FINISHES SIXTH AT UAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
(April 23) The Emory men's track and field squad finished tied for sixth at the 2006 UAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships with 66 points.
Highlighting the final day of competition was Drew Harbur finishing third in both the hammer throw and javelin. Harbur took third in both events, with a finals throw of 44.03 meters in the weight throw and a throw of 49.07 in the javelin.
Jake Wheeler took fourth in the javelin at 47.15 meters, while Stan Tolkachjov was eighth at 43.38 meters.
Jim LePorte and Brian Platt both scored in the 100 and 200 meter dashes. LePorte finished fourth in the 100 at 11.41, while Platt was sixth at 11.49. In the 200, Platt took fourth, crossing the finish at 22.78 and LePorte was sixth at 22.87.
Adam Moroff competed in the finals of the 110 and 400 hurdles, finishing fifth in both. In the 100 he crossed the finish line in a time of 16.38 and 58.03 in the 400.
Rob Leventhal took eighth in the 800 meters at 2:01.67.
In relay competition, Emory was third in the 4x100 with a time of 43.32 and fifth in the 4x400 at 3:30.96.
Up next for the Eagles is a split weekend between the historic Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa., and the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa. Both meets run April 27-29.
EAGLES CLOSE OUT FIRST DAY OF UAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
(April 22) The Emory men's track team closed out the first day of competition at the UAA Championships in Cleveland, Ohio. The Eagles stand fifth with 13 points.
Competing in the pole vault, Jordan Knight finished third after a finals jump of 13-05.25. Tyler Stubblefield finished sixth at 12-11.50.
The 4x800 meter relay team of Nick Price, Anthony Caponiti, Nicolai Lundy and Rob Leventhal finished fifth in a time of 8:07.85.
The Eagles qualified several individuals for final races on Sunday. Highlighting the qualifiers was Brian Platt in the 200 meter dash with the fourth fastest time of 23.02. Also qualifying was Jim LePorte in a time of 23.22.
Platt and LePorte also qualified for the final of 100 meter dash, with Platt having a time of 11.45 and LePorte crossing the finish at 11.53.
Rob Leventhal qualified for the final of the 800 meter run with a preliminary of 1:55.43. Adam Moroff qualified for two final races in the 110 meter hurdles and 400 meter hurdles. Moroff's time in the 110 was 16.69 and 57.83 in the 400.
Emory returns to action Sunday with the final day of competition.
EMORY CONCLUDES COMPETITION AT THE EMORY MINI MEET
(April 15) The Emory men's track and field squad wrapped up preparations for the UAA Outdoor Championships with the Emory Mini Meet.
Drew Harbur highlighted the afternoon for the blue and gold, winning two events. Harbur won the hammer throw with a throw of 159-07, while also taking first in the javelin at 163-10.
Also claiming a first place finish on Saturday were Rob Leventhal in the 800 meters with a time of 1:53.10, which stands as his top time in the event for the year.
Adam Moroff won the 400 meter hurdles in a time of 58.18. Moroff also took second in the 110 meter hurdles at 16.83.
Colin Watterson finished third in the 3000 meter run at 9:30.60, while Nate Ennist finished at 9:33.13 in fourth.
In relay competition, Emory took first in the 4x400 at 3:26.49.
Up next is the UAA Outdoor Championships, April 22-23 in Cleveland, Ohio.
ROB LEVENTHAL FINISHES SECOND IN 800 METERS AT DUKE INVITATIONAL
(April 8) Rob Leventhal continued his impressive spring by claiming second place in the 800 meters at the Duke Invitational in Durham, N.C.
Leventhal finished the race in a time of 1:54.18.
Kile Krol competed in the 1500 meters, taking 13th with a time of 4:00.27.
At the Mountain Laurel Invitational, Emory claimed two first place finishes. Nick Price won the 800 meter run in a time of 2:01.14, while Luke Wetzel won the 3000 meter steeplechase at 10:14.32.
Jim LePorte took third in the 200 meter dash in a time of 23.54, while finishing sixth in the 100 meters at 11.77. In the 400 meter dash, Naoki Murai claimed fifth with a time of 52.84.
In the field events, four top three finishes. Jim LePorte finished second in the long jump at 20-07.00, while Stan Tolkachjov was second in the javelin at 143-10. Tolkachjov also finished third in the shot put at 38-09.50. Sam Lee rounded out the top finishes in third in the discus with a finals throw of 119-02.
Up next for the Eagles is the Emory Mini Meet, Saturday, April 15.
EAGLES CONCLUDE COMPETITION IN THE EMORY TRACK CLASSIC
(April 1) The Emory men's track and field squad concluded competition in the 2006 Emory Track Classic.
Rob Leventhal highlighted the final day, winning the 800 meter run in a time of 1:54.29. Finishing eighth in the event was Nick Price at 1:59.95, while Nicolai Lunday was ninth at 2:00.00.
In the 1500 seeded event, Kile Krol took sixth at 4:04.47. In the regular 1500, Isaac Zimmerman finished fourth at 4:12.61, while Michael Rothbart was fifth and Luke Wetzel was sixth. Rothbart was at 4:13.01, while Wetzel was 4:13.74.
In the 5000 meter seeded run, Bryan Forsyth finished seventh with a time of 16:05.46. In the 5000 meter event, Colin Watterson took sixth at 16:37.86.
Brian Platt competed in the 100 meter dash finals, finishing seventh at 11.87.
The 400 meter hurdles saw Adam Moroff take eighth with a time of 57.77, while Jake Wheeler was 13th at 1:00.07.
Emory's 4x100 meter relay team of Jim LePorte, Brian Platt, Ryan Kindermann and Jeff Morland took third with a time of 43.55, while Emory "B" was sixth in the 4x400 at 3:30.32. The team was made of Naoki Murai, Anthony Caponiti, Mike Bowman and Jake Wheeler.
LePorte and Sam Lee highlighted the field events. LePorte finished third in the long jump at 20-07.00, while Lee was third in the discuss at 126-09.00.
Jordan Knight finished sixth in the pole vault at 13-05.25, and Stan Tolkachjov was eighth in the shot-put at 39-00.25.
Up next for the Eagles is the Duke Invitational and Seminole Invitational, April 7-8.
EMORY HOSTS THE EMORY TRACK CLASSIC
(March 31) The Emory men's track and field squad is set to play host to the 2006 Emory Track Classic.
Highlighting the first day for the men was Drew Harbur finishing third in the hammer throw at 150-11.00.
Jeff Sprock finished eighth in the event at 121-01.00, while Andrew Smith was 11th at 106-09.00.
In the javelin, Jake Wheeler finished fifth with a distance of 154-03.00, while Jeff Morlend was eighth at 147-05.00 and Harbur 10th at 130-08.00.
Luke Wetzel competed in the 3000 meter steeplechase, finishing 10th in a time of 10:19.24, while Brian Mortensen was 16th at 10:40.67.
In the 10,000 meter run, Nate Ennist finished 13th with a time of 34:57.43.
The Eagles continue competition on Saturday with the final day of the meet.
EAGLES PLAY HOST TO EMORY INVITATIONAL
(March 25) The Emory men's track team opened the 2006 outdoor season by playing host to the Emory Invitational.
Rob Leventhal continued his outstanding season by carrying over from indoors and winning the 1500 meter run in a time of 4:01.02.
In the 5000 meter run, Colin Watterson took third at 16:33.96, while Andrew Swerlick was eighth in a time of 16:50.26. Evan Goldberg took 10th at 16:59.72, while Luke Godleski was 11th at 17:01.27.
Vikram Srivastava and Isaac Zimmerman finished seventh and eighth, respectively, in the seeded 5000 meter run. Srivastava finished at 15:35.21, while Zimmerman was at 15:43.51.
Michael Rothbart took fourth place in the 10,000 meter run, crossing the finish at 33:06.68, while Nate Ennist was eighth at 35:09.11.
In the hurdle competitions, Adam Moroff finished sixth in the 400 meters at 58.24 and seventh in the 110 meters at 16.71.
Luke Wetzel took fifth in the 3000 meter steeplechase in a time of 10:30.96, while Brian Mortensen was eighth at 10:59.54.
Emory took fourth in the 4x400 meter relay at 3:29.77, while finishing sixth in the 4x100 meters with a time of 44.11.
Drew Harbur and Jordan Knight turned in solid efforts to lead the Eagles competing in field events. Harbur finished third in the hammer throw with a distance of 145-04.00. Knight took fourth place in the pole vault at 12-11.50.
In the long jump, Jim LePorte finished sixth at 20-02.25.
Emory remains in Atlanta next weekend, as it plays host to the Emory Classic, March 31-April 1.

(March 4) The Emory University men's indoor track and field squad
finished seventh at the UAA
Indoor Championships with 21 points.
Highlighting the competition was Rob Leventhal finishing second in
the 800 meter dash with a time of 1:54.65, which is an NCAA
Provisional mark.
In the pole vault competition, Jordan Knight finished third with a
4.10 meter jump. Drew Harbur took fourth in the weight throw
with a 14.97 meter toss in the finals.
Kile Krol finished seventh in the mile run with a time of 4:27.10.
EMORY OPENS COMPETITION AT UAA INDOORS

Friday at the University of Chicago.
Highlights the day's competition was Rob Leventhal, finishing
second in the 800 meter
dash in a time of 1:55.22.
Drew Harbur claimed a fourth place finish in the weight throw at
14.97 meters.

(Feb. 25) EAGLES CONCLUDE FINAL MEET IN PREPERATIONS FOR UAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Emory indoor track and field squad used the University of the South's Sewanee Indoor Invitational as its final tune-up for the 2006 University Athletic Association Championships.
Jim LePorte turned in his top time of the year in the 55 meter dash with a time of 6.84, which is also the second-fastest time this season by an Eagle. He also competed in the long jump where he finished seventh at 19-08.00, which marks his top mark for the season.
In the 55 meter hurdles, Adam Moroff crossed the finish line in fourth with a time of 8.47. Moroff's time now stands as the fastest by an Eagle this season, bettering his previous mark of 8.54.
Mike Bowman finished fourth in the 800 meter dash in a time of 2:05.01, while Anthony Caponiti was seventh at 2:07.21.
Ryan Kindermann lead four Eagles in the 400 meter dash, finishing sixth at 54.28. Jon McClain and Jake Wheeler finished eighth and ninth, respectively, while McClain crossing the finish at 54.95 and Wheeler at 55.15. Hansang Kim rounded out the Emory competitors in 14th at 56.19.
Emory now travels to the University of Chicago for the UAA Championships, March 3-4.
(Feb. 18) EMORY TRACK AND FIELD COMPETES AT TENNESSEE AND INDIANA
The Emory men's indoor track and field squad split for the weekend with teams going to the University of Tennessee and Indiana University.
At Tennessee, Isaac Zimmerman finished second in the 3000 meter run in a time of 9:10.79. Brian Mortensen and Bryan Forsyth finished fourth and fifth, respectively. Mortensen finished at 9:20.63, while Forsyth was at 9:23.31.
In field events, Jordan Knight claimed first place in the men's pole vault with a 12-11.50.
Emory finished second through fourth in the 35lb weight through, with Drew Harbur leading the way in second at 47-01.50. Jeff Sprock finished second at 42.08.00, while Andrew Smith was third at 38-03.25.
Jim LePorte finished ninth in the long jump at 19-04.75.
At IU, Rob Leventhal finished seventh in the 800 meter run in a time of 1:56.09. Nicolai Lundy finished 18th at 2:00.00, while Nick Price was 20th, crossing at 2:00.95.
Kile Krol competed in the mile with a time of 4:22.38 to finish 13th. Vikram Srivastava was 23rd with a time of 4:31.40.
The men's 4x400 meter relay team crossed the finish line at 3:29.48 to finish ninth.
Up next for the Eagles is a trip back to Sewanee, Tenn., to compete in the Sewanee Indoor Invitational, hosted by the University of the South, Feb. 25.
(Feb. 11) EAGLE INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD COMPETES IN NORTH CAROLINA AND BOSTON
The Emory indoor track and field squad competed in the Carolina Classic and Valentines Day Meet over the weekend.
In Chapel Hill, N.C., for the Carolina Classic, Kile Krol finished ninth in the mile run with a time of 4:26.32 for his top performance in the event for the year. Vikram Srivastiva also competed, finishing 16th at 4:33.02.
The 3000 meter run saw Bryan Forsyth finish 11th in a time of 9:05.99, while Michael Rothbart finished 13th at 9:12.80. Both stand as the top two times for Emory in the event this season.
Nicolai Lundy finished the 800 meter run with his top performance to date, crossing the finish line in a time of 2:02.01.
Drew Harbur finished eighth in the weight throw with a 46-06.25.
At the Valentines Day Meet in Boston, Mass., Rob Leventhal turned in one of the team's top perfomance to date this season in the 800 meter run, finishing at 1:56.55. He owns the mark this season at 1:55.22.
The Eagles continue preperations for the UAA Championships as they travel to Knoxville, Tenn., Feb. 17 for the Tennessee Indoor Track Classic.
(Jan. 29) EMORY COMPETES IN TENNESSEE STATE INVITE
The Emory men's indoor track and field squad competed in the Tennessee State Invitational on Sunday, highlighted by performances from Drew Harbur and Kile Krol.
Harbur recorded an impressive personal record while placing fourth in the weight throw at the Tennessee State University Invitational. His throw of 49' 5.75" (15.08m) was a personal best by over 12 feet. His performance moves him to second in Emory's all-time rankings in the weight throw. Harbur placed third out of the collegiate competitors, and was less than an inch away from second place.
Krol claimed his first top finish of the season in the 1 mile run in a time of 4:29.42. Rob Leventhal finished second in the 800 meter run, crossing the finish line in a time of 1:55.22.
Emory next travels to Sewanee, Tenn., to compete in the Tiger Indoor Invitational, Feb. 4.
(Jan. 21) INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD OPENS 2006 AT NISWONGER INVITE
The Emory indoor track and field squad traveled to Johnson City, Tenn., over the weekend to participate in East Tennessee State's Niswonger Invitational.
Rob Leventhal placed 16th in the seeded 800 meter race to turn in one of the Eagles' top performances of the weekend. Leventhal ran 1:57.46 which was the fastest time in the UAA at the time of his race last Friday.
Kile Krol took a top 10 finish in the 1 mile run, crossing the finish in a time of 4:29.49. Vikram Srivastava finished 27th in the unseeded 800 meter run in a time of 2:03.75.
The men's 5000 meter run saw three Eagles compete with Bryan Forsyth leading the way in 19th with a 15:59.25. Isaac Zimmerman and Michael Rothbart finished 24th and 26th, respectively in a time of 16:30.96.
Up next for the Eagles is a return trip to Tennessee when they travel to Nashville for the Tennessee State Invitational, hosted by Tennessee State University, Jan. 28.
(Dec. 3) EMORY OPENS SEASON AT CLEMSON
The Emory men's indoor track and field team traveled to Clemson, S.C. over the weekend to compete in the Clemson Opener. The meet featured mainly Division I teams.
Competing in the 800 meter run, Nick Price finished 34th with a time of 2:11.29, while Nicolai Lundy finished 35th at 2:11.78.
Emory's 4x400 relay team of David Simms, Price, Naoki Murai and Lundy finished 16th in a time of 3:35.88.
Emory returns to action Jan. 20-21 when it competes in the Niswonger Invitational in Johnson City, Tenn.
