Emory Men's Track & Field Place Second at Berry Field Day Invitational

Junior Benjamin Rogin swept the hurdling events while six other Eagles recorded second place finishes as the Emory University Men's Track and Field placed second overall out of 16 schools at the Berry Field Day Invitational this weekend in Rome, GA. The Eagles netted 121.5 points across the two-day meet and were edged out only by host Berry College, which scored 127.5 points at the meet.

Rogin was impressive in both the 110m and 400m Hurdles events en route to a pair of victories. Rogin cracked the 15 seconds barrier in the 110m as he set a new personal best at 14.84. Later in the 400m, Rogin posted a mark of 55.32, winning the event by more than two seconds. He added a third place effort in the 4x100m along with senior Kyle Veator, freshman Aria Mohseni and junior Max Helfman. The group clocked in a time of 43.57.

Adding second place showings for the Eagles at the meet were junior Max Brown in the 1500m Run (3:57.70), senior Michael Sisario in the 5000m Run (15:11.57), freshman Luis Torres in the 10000m Run (32:36.59), sophomore Zachary Lembersky in the hammer throw (41.14m), sophomore Noah Elm in the 110m Hurdles (16.12) and junior Charlie Hu in the Javelin (47.76m).

Brown and Hu scored in additional events as well to help Emory to the third place finish. Brown was fourth in the 800m Run with a time of 1:55.07 while Hu was fifth in the high jump at 1.77m.

The Eagles will be back in action next Friday at Sewanee University for the Mountain Laurel Invitational. The meet will serve as the final meet before the University Athletic Association Championships in Chicago, IL on April 22nd and 23rd.
