Emory Track & Field Trio Selected to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

Emory University seniors Erica Goldman, Charlie Hu and Benjamin Rogin were named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District Cross Country/Track and Field teams as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Tuesday afternoon.

The CoSIDA Academic All-District team presented by Google Cloud recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. To be nominated, Student-athletes must maintain a 3.30 grade point average, be of sophomore standing or higher, and have attended their current institutions for at least one year to be eligible.

Goldman earns Academic All-District honors for the first time in her career after being a key contributor to the success of the Eagles' relay teams in 2018. Goldman led Emory to national runner-up finishes in the 4x400m at both the indoor and outdoor NCAA Championships and was part of the Eagles' fourth place finish in the 4x100m at the outdoor national meet. Goldman also captured the UAA Outdoor 400m title as well conference titles in the 4x400m at both indoor and outdoor meets. She finished her career as a six-time All-American, three-time UAA Champion and 11-time All-UAA finisher.

Hu was crowned the UAA outdoor long jump champion in 2018 and added All-UAA honors in the triple jump as he was selected to his second straight Academic All-District team. In his career, Hu was a three-time UAA Champion, eight-time All-UAA finisher and was named the 2017 UAA Indoor Field Performer of the Year.

Rogin makes his third consecutive appearance on the Academic All-District team after winning his third straight UAA Outdoor 110m Hurdles title and claiming All-UAA honors in both the indoor 60m Hurdles and outdoor 4x100m Relay. For his career, Rogin was a four-time UAA champion, nine-time All-UAA finisher and is the Emory indoor record holder in the 60m Hurdles at 8.30.

The trio will now be placed on the national ballot for consideration of the Academic All-America Team which will be announced on Tuesday, June 19th.
