Men's Track & Field Compete at Auburn and Georgia Southern Meets

The Emory University Men's Track and Field team was in action this past weekend, competing at both the Georgia Southern Spring Classic and Auburn's Tiger Track Invitational. There was no team scoring at either meet.

At Auburn, sophomore Jack Whetstone came in second in the 5000m Run with a season-best time of 14:57.88. Senior Bennett Shaw and sophomore Matthew Dillon added top-five finishes with Shaw taking fourth in the 3000m Steeplechase with a season-best 9:30.65 and Dillon placing fifth in the 1500m Run at 4:03.18.

Sophomore Thomas Perretta ran a season-best time of 1:55.00 to take 11th in the 800m Run and in the 400m Hurdles, freshman Lucas Werner recorded a season-best time of 57.59 as he finished 20th.

In Statesboro, freshman Anderson Shew led the Eagles with a first place finish in the 1500m Run with a time of 4:09.59 and added a fifth place effort in the 800m Run at 2:01.93.

Next up for the Eagles will be the Berry Field Day Invitational on Friday and Saturday in Rome, GA.
