Freshman Ryan Ryu stretched the tape to a distance of 12.89m in the triple jump event at the Carolina Challenge in Columbia, SC on Friday. His effort is the eighth-longest out of UAA competitors this year, and also stands as the ninth-best in Emory men's track and field history. The freshman's jump earned him seventh-place out of 12 jumpers in the open triple jump event, which included a talented field of DI and DII opponents.
