Freshman Luis Torres came through with a fine performance at the Furman Classic, helping the Emory men's cross country team to a sixth-place effort out of 23 teams.
Torres paced the Emory contingent and placed 23rd overall out of 226 runners, registering an 8K time of 25:58. The Eagles had three representatives finish among the top 30 and totaled 143 points, just five points from fifth-place Clemson.
Emory returns to action on Sept. 17 when it races at the Falcon Classic at Montevallo University.
