Results

The Emory men's cross country team recorded a third-place finish at the NCAA South/Southeast Region Championships on Saturday.  The meet was held at the Clara Bowl Course on the campus of Berry College.

Competing in a 29-team field, the No. 26-ranked Eagles finished with 103 points.  Claiming the top spot was Christopher Newport with 52 points while Washington and Lee was runner-up after totaling 58 points.  By virtue of their 1-2 finish, CNU and Washington and Lee earn automatic bids to next Saturday's (Nov. 19) NCAA D-III Championships.  Emory will hear on Sunday afternoon as to whether or not it will pick up an at-large berth.

Senior Michael Sisario paced the Emory pack, covering the 8K course in a time of 25:34, good for fifth place overall out of 208 entries.  Sisario's effort mark the third straight meet he ranked as the team's top runner and the fifth time in six competitions this year that he scored.  Senior Lukas Mees was the second Eagle runner and 11th overall to appear on the board, turning in a time of 25:51. Sophomore Bennett Shaw stood third among the Emory pack and 27th overall after clocking a 26:32 while junior Shane Sullivan's performance of 26:37 placed 29th.  Rounding out the team's scorers was senior Austin Hunt, whose effort of 26:40 stood 31st.

All of the Eagle scorers landed all-region honors.

Grayson Reid of Christopher Newport was the top individual finisher with a time of 25:02.
