NCAA D-III Cross Country Championships Info

The Emory men's cross country program has been selected as an at-large team to participate in the 2017 NCAA D-III Championships. The announcement of the at-large teams was made Sunday afternoon.

The Eagles are one of 16 schools who received at-large bids to this year's Championships.  Emory is coming off a third-place finish at the NCAA South/Southeast Region Championships on Saturday, trailing Christopher Newport and Rhodes College.  By virtue of the finishes, both CNU and Rhodes gained automatic spots, with Emory awaiting to see if it would earn an at-large spot.  The Eagles are one of four University Athletic Association men's teams who will be competing at nationals, joining Carnegie Mellon (automatic berth), New York University (at-large) and Washington University (at-large).  A total of 32 schools will be vying for the national crown on both the men's and women's sides.

The men's and women's championships will be held at the Principia College North Farm Cross Country Course in Elsah, Illinois next Saturday (Nov. 18). The men's 8k race will start at noon (EST), followed by the women's 6k event at 1:15 pm.

The Emory women's team landed an automatic spot at the Championships after posting a runner-up finish at Regionals.
