Emory Cross Country Represented At Pre-Nationals & Berry Invitational

The Emory men's and women's cross country teams continue their seasons on Saturday (Oct. 13) when they send representatives to a pair of competitions.  The Eagles will send their top runners to Winneconne, Wisconsin, to compete at the UW-Oshkosh Kollege Town Pre-Nationals, with the women's 6K slated for a 9:40 am (CDT) start, followed by the men's 8K at 10:20 am.  The event will be held at the Lake Breeze Golf Club.  In addition, Emory will send a contingent of runners to race at the Berry College Invitational. Held at the Clara Bowl Course, the men's 8K will start at 9:00 am, followed by the women's 6K at 10:00 am.

On the women's side at the Pre-National Meet, No. 28-ranked Emory will be one of approximately 52 teams competing.  The field is stacked with talent with five of the top 10 and a total of 17 teams that appear in this week's USFTCCCA Top 35 Poll.  Among the ranked institutions taking part include No. 2 Washington University, No. 4 MIT, No. 5 UW-Eau Claire, No. 6 Carleton and No. 9 Wheaton Hope.

The Emory men, ranked 31st nationally, are one of 51 teams hitting the course. The Eagles will be facing a host of nationally ranked squads as six of the top 11 and a total of 17 schools slotted among the top 35 comprise this year's field.  Top-10 programs slated to compete include No. 1 North Central, No. 3 Pomona-Pitzer, No. 5 Haverford, No. 6 Washington University, No. 9 Calvin and No. 11 Wartburg.

The Lake Breeze Golf Club will be the site of the 2018 NCAA D-III Championships (Nov. 17).

Both Emory teams last competed on Sept. 29 when they registered runner-up finishes at the JSU Foothills Invitational in Oxford, Alabama.
