Cox & Friedman Land UAA Cross Country Honors

Sophomore John Cox and freshman Zoe Friedman have been selected as the University Athletic Association Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Athletes of the Week following their performances at the Bobcat Invitational in Milledgeville, Georgia. It is the first time that both runners have been recognized by the conference.

Cox was the first Eagle to cross the finish line and 27th overall out of 162 runners, clocking a personal-best 8K time of 26:18. It represented the initial time in his young career that he ranked as the Eagles' top runner in a meet.  John's effort helped Emory to a seventh-place finish out of 18 teams.

On the women’s side, Friedman paced the Emory pack with a 6K time of 23:31 that ranked 15th out of 142 runners. It represented the second straight meet that she had ranked as the Eagles’ top finisher. Emory closed out the Invitational with a fifth-place showing out of 19 squads.
