Sophomore pitcher Bridget
Holloway figured in each decision on Saturday as the
Eagles posted a doubleheader sweep against Covenant College.
In a 4-1 opening-game win, Holloway came on in relief of starter
Jamie Melson in the seventh inning with a pair of runners aboard
with nobody out and earned a save, getting the final three
outs. In a 3-1 victory in the finale, Holloway raised her
record to 8-6, tossing a complete game, allowing just six hits and
fanning four.
In 99 2/3 innings of action this year, she has struck out 70
batters and issued just 11 walks.
