Freshman Megan Light swung a big bat over the weekend in helping
the Eagles to a 4-0 record. Light hit a blazing .667 with
eight hits in 12 plate appearances. In addition, she knocked
in a team-leading nine runs and scored six times in helping Emory
post a 37-3 scoring advantage in the four contests. She
picked up two hits in each of the four games including a
run-producing double and two-run homer in a 7-0 win over Maryville
on Saturday. Later that day in a five-inning, 14-1 win over
Peace College, she registered four RBIs, three coming in a 10-run
fifth inning. In the final game of the weekend, an 11-1 win over
Maryville on Sunday, Light came through with a pair of RBIs with a
two-run single and scored twice.
