Sophomore third baseman Dana Goodenough helped
the No. 2 –ranked Eagles to a 6-1 record last week. A
starter in all six of the contests she appeared in, she hit safely
in every outing and recorded a team-high seven safeties en route to
a hitting mark of .389 (7-for-18). She had four RBIs (tied
for second high on the team) and scored a team-high five
runs. She recorded the game-winning RBI with a 2-out, 2-run
double in the top of the 7th vs. Huntingdon (Apr. 5) in a 5-3 win.
In a 3-1 win over LaGrange (Apr. 8), she accounted for the team's
first run with a homer and later scored the insurance run. On
Saturday, in the first game of a twinbill vs. Rhodes, she provided
the game-winning RBI in a 5-2 victory and had one hit and scored
what proved to be the deciding run in a 5-4 win in the nightcap.
Defensively, she handled all 16 of her chances flawlessly.
Dana has appeared as a starter in all 33 of her appearances this
season and his hitting .330 with 33 hits in 100 plate
appearances. She is third on the squad with seven doubles and
fourth with 26 runs scored.
