Senior Micah Scharff was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Atlanta Softball Regional after helping the Eagles to three wins and a championship that propelled the team in the Super Regional round.
Scharff hit .444, collecting four hits in nine trips to the plate, and scored a team-high four runs. She hit safely in all three contests, including a 2-for-4 effort with three runs scored and a lead off home run in a 4-2 eight-inning victory over Berry College that clinched the regional title. Earlier in the weekend, she drew a walk in the first inning and scored what proved the winning run in a 2-0 decision over LaGrange.
On the year, Scharff leads the team with a .396 mark (43-of-110) at the plate with 27 RBIs and a team-high 14 doubles.
