Junior Hannah Sendel swung a potent bat in helping the Emory softball team to a 4-0 record at the Lauren Giddings Classic.
Sendel hit .500, going 6-for-12 at the plate with five extra-base hits. She accounted for 11 of the team's 28 RBIs over the weekend and finished with a 1.167 slugging percentage.
In a 6-1 triumph against Thomas More, Sendel delivered a pair of run-producing doubles, finishing with a 2-for-3 showing at the plate. She sparked the team to an 8-1 verdict vs. DePauw University on Sunday, collecting a double and a grand slam en route to racking up 6 RBIs. She wound up the weekend by going 1-for-3 with a triple in the bottom of the seventh , and scoring the winning run in a 7-6 come-from-behind victory over Randolph College.
Through 10 games, Sendel is second on the squad in hitting with a .438 mark (14-of-32) and tops the team with 14 RBIs.
