Brittany File

Brittany File

Junior pitcher Brittany File established a pair of school seasonal records and helped Emory to a 4-0 record, earning all four of those victories.

File recorded an ERA of 0.00 over 24 2/3 innings of action as the Eagles posted a pair of wins over both Southwestern University and Rhodes College. She allowed 12 hits, issued five walks and struck out 43 batters, with Emory closing out the weekend with a 36-4 record.

File fanned 10 or more batters in all four contests, and in the process established a school season record with 251, bettering the previous mark of 230 set by Shanon Anderson in 2008.  In Sunday's 8-1 triumph at Rhodes, File went the first six innings and surrendered just three hits while striking out 10.  The victory raised her record to 28-2 and in the process set a program record for most victories in a season, topping Amanda Kardys' 27 wins in 2014.

On Saturday, File earned the win after tossing six innings of relief, striking out a dozen as Emory prevailed by a 4-3 margin in eight innings against Southwestern.  Later that day, she threw a complete-game shutout against Rhodes, allowing three safeties and whiffing 10 in a 5-0 victory.
