Senior left fielder Taylor Forte was the Emory softball team's top hitter during a four-game series against No. 13-ranked Christopher Newport.

Forte came through with a batting average of .583, collecting a team-high seven hits in 12 trips to the plate. In addition, she scored a team-high four runs, stole two bases and registered a team-high .615 on-base percentage. 

Forte hit safely in all four and scored runs in three contests against the Captains. In an 8-3 victory, she went 2-for-3 and crossed the plate once and delivered another multi-hit performance in three trips to to plate while scoring once in the series finale.

A starter in all 16 games, Taylor is hitting .362 (17 of 47) and paces the team with 17 hits and 14 runs scored.
