LOOKING AT EMORY
Emory meets Brandeis with an overall record of 21-11 (4-4 UAA).  The Eagles split a four-game series against Washington University last weekend, posting 5-0 and 7-0 victories on the first day of play before the Bears bounced back with 8-0 and 10-8 (8 inn) decisions on Saturday.

Emory, 16-7 at home this year, starts the week hitting .332 as a team while the opposition sports a mark of .241.  The Eagles have totaled 67 extra-base hits, 45 doubles, 19 home runs and three triples. Emory has registered 10 or more hits in 13 contests this year.

Sophomore right fielder Sam Vincent and senior left fielder Taylor Forte ranks as the squad's top two hitters.  Vincent checks in with a .435 (27 of 62) effort, good for fifth place among the league leaders.  Vincent, who had a 10-game hitting streak snapped in the opener of the Wash U series, has produced five multiple-hit contests and is tied with Forte and sophomore Sarah Flanders for the team lead with seven stolen bases.  Forte, a starter in all 32 games, is right behind Vincent at .434 (seventh in the UAA) with a team-high 43 hits in 99 visits to the plate.  Forte has chalked up  team highs with 14 multi-hit contests and 28 runs scored.

In the pitching department, senior Brittany File (9-4) and sophomore Toko Miller (5-4) have combined for 14 wins.  File claims an ERA of 2.23 over 91 innings of work that has seen her fan 114 opponents.  Entering the weekend, File has 72 career wins to her credit, just two from breaking the current standard of 73 held by Nicole Kovski (2001-04). Miller, who has started a team-high 13 contests, has an ERA of 2.49 over 50 2/3 frames.

WRAY EARNS UAA SOFTBALL HONOR
Senior second baseman Amy Wray was named the UAA's Co-Hitter of the Week after last week's six-game stretch that saw the Eagles post a 4-2 ledger.

Wray recorded a .421 effort at the plate, collecting a team-high eight hits in 19 at-bats. Included in her offensive totals were four doubles, one triple and a team-high .737 slugging percentage.

Wray hit safely in all six games and came through with multi-hit performances in both games of the doubleheader against Washington University last Saturday.

LOOKING AT BRANDEIS
Brandeis invades Atlanta with an overall record of 6-5, 1-0 in the UAA.  Led by the second-year head coach Danielle DelPonte (UConn, '09), the Judges are coming off a 7-6 home setback to Framingham State on Wednesday.

Brandeis is hitting at a .323 clip through its first 11 games, and is paced in that category by sophomore Marissa DeLaurentis who sports a .400 effort (14 of 35) at the plate.
