Cassie Baca

Cassie Baca

Junior shortstop Cassie Baca played a key offensive role in the Eagles' four UAA victories over Case Western Reserve.

Baca registered a .600 mark, hitting safely on six occasions in 10 plate appearances. She stroked a team-high two doubles, and paced the squad with five RBIs as well as slugging percentage (.800).

In the second game of the series, Baca went 3-for-3 and singled in the GWRBI in the bottom of the second frame as Emory posted a 2-1 verdict over the Spartans. In Saturday's opener, Baca collected two hits in four at-bats and scored twice, including what proved to be the deciding tally in the bottom of the third in a 7-1 triumph. In the series finale, a 4-3 Eagles' win, Baca doubled in the team's first run of the contest and then knocked in two more runs throughout the course of the contest with sacrifice flies, including the team's final run of the weekend.

Baca has seen action in all 20 games to date and is hitting at a .362 clip (21 of 58) with a team-high 13 RBIs.
