Jacqueline Spizizen

Jacqueline Spizizen

Freshman Jacqueline Spizizen figured in three of Emory's five wins during the week.

Spizizen made four appearances, making three starts, and posted a 2-0 record, finishing with an ERA of 1.25 over 22 1/3 innings of work. She fanned 21 and allowed 17 hits. She also earned a save.

Spizizen began the week by tossing a complete game in the Eagles' 3-2 triumph over Georgia Gwinnett, the No. 1-ranked NAIA program, striking out six and allowing nine hits. The victory ended the Grizzlies' 26-game win win streak. She followed that effort by crafting a masterful one-hitter over six frames in a 7-1 decision over NYU in the first of a four-game series, striking out seven while helping the squad clinch the UAA crown. In the second game of the series, she registered her fourth save of the season, tying a school record, after hurling three hitless innings, in a 6-3 verdict over the Violets.

To date, Spizizen has compiled a won-lost ledger of 16-5 with an ERA of 1.43 over 122 2/3 innings.
