Freshman Jacqueline Spizizen registered three of the Emory softball team's four wins in a weekend road sweep of Washington University.

Spizizen appeared in all four contests and finished with an ERA of 0.00 over 17 innings of action, allowing one unearned run and eight hits. She fanned a total of 13 batters and issued just one walk.

Spizizen got the Eagles off to a solid start in the series, throwing a complete-game shutout in a series-opening 1-0 triumph, allowing just two hits and striking out seven with no walks. She drew the starting nod in the circle in the second game and went four innings, allowing the unearned run and striking out two as the Eagles prevailed by a 4-2 margin. After starting and picking up the win in Saturday's 9-0 triumph in the first game of a doubleheader, Spizizen posted her 11th win of the campaign when she turned in a three-inning relief outing, holding the Bears scoreless while whiffing one batter.

So far this year, Spizizen has complied an ERA of 1.64 over 77 innings. She has struck out 75 while allowing just 18 base on balls.
