Emory Women's Basketball Winds Up Trip To Spain

Emory Women's Basketball Winds Up Trip To Spain

The final day of our Spanish adventure was an outing to the breathtaking beach town of Sitges. Upon our arrival, the team walked along the coast of the Mediterranean, admiring the spectacular views and taking many pictures of the charming buildings and streets while singing 'vamos a la playa'. We then dispersed to either browse the cute stores or find the best gelato, of which the latter required multiple taste tests. Once we settled into a nice spot on the beach, we were able to enjoy the views and have fun in the sun. The day was spent diving for shells, making sand angels, playing foursquare, and assessing each other's tans. We left just before dusk and arrived back at the hotel for our beloved siestas.

For dinner, our tour guide Carmen took us to a hip restaurant in the Spanish Square called Happy Rock, where we enjoyed our final meal of the trip. Before we left Carmen surprised us with a trip to the rooftop of the shopping center so we could admire the panoramic views of the Barcelona landscape. However, the night was far from over because Carmen surprised us once again with a team karaoke session on the stage of Happy Rock. Being a vocally inclined squad, we took to the stage to bust our moves and sing Lip Gloss, Don't Stop Believin', Poker Face, and other classic jams. Coach T also made an appearance with her rendition of Sweet Home Alabama. We wrapped our performances up with the team remix of 'Wheels on the Bus' with Z killing the beat, Misha singing the chorus, and Erin hitting all of the hype notes. Overall, it was a memorable and cherished final day of our amazing trip.
