Emory Women's Basketball Releases 2018-19 Schedule

2018-19 Emory Women's Basketball Schedule

The Emory women's basketball team has released its 2018-19 schedule. The Eagles will embark upon a 25-game slate with 11 contests slated on their home floor at the Woodruff PE Center.

Head Coach Misha Jackson and her squad open the campaign at home on Nov. 12 when they clash with intra-city foe Oglethorpe University for the 41st time in school history.  The Stormy Petrels fashioned a 21-8 won-lost mark last season and earned a berth in the NCAA D-III Tournament.  Following the opener, Emory will take part in the Guilford College Classic, Nov. 17-18, taking on Virginia Wesleyan in its first outing before meeting the host Quakers, who closed out last year with an effort of 17-7, the following day.  Thanksgiving weekend (Nov. 24-25) will see the Eagles on the road when they compete at the Transylvania University Classic, squaring off against the host Pioneers (21-6 in '17-18) in the opener before playing Denison University in the finale.  Emory will close out November with a home date against Sewanee on Nov. 27, followed by a Nov. 30 bout at Berry College.  Emory has a light December with three games on tap, the first two taking place at home against Birmingham Southern (Dec. 8) and Agnes Scott College (Dec. 11), with a Dec. 29 road test at Rhodes College (18-9 last year) closing out the month. Emory doesn't waste any time opening the 2019 portion of the schedule when it ventures to Maryville College for a Jan. 1 encounter.

The 14-game University Athletic Association docket will begin with three straight road games against teams who played in last season's NCAA Tourney, starting on Jan. 5 at Rochester. The following weekend will see the Eagles venture to Washington University (Jan. 11) and defending conference champ Chicago (Jan. 13).  Emory then closes out the first month on the calendar with four consecutive home games – Jan. 18 vs. Case Western Reserve, Jan. 20 vs. Carnegie Mellon, Jan. 25 vs. Brandeis and Jan. 27 vs. New York University. The second half of the conference schedule begins Feb. 1st and 3rd when Emory travels to Brandeis and NYU, respectively.  Washington Univ., (Feb. 8) and Chicago (Feb. 10) will make the return visit to Atlanta before the Eagles play their final two road games of the year, at Case Western on Feb. 15, followed by a Feb. 17 meeting at Carnegie Mellon.  Emory closes out the regular season at home on Feb. 23 for a Senior Day meeting vs. Rochester.

Emory posted a 13-12 won-lost mark last season with its 7-7 performance in league play representing the program's highest win total since 2013.
