Allison Chernow Named UAA Women's Basketball Player Of The Week - Earns Spot On D3hoops.com Team Of The Week

Emory University junior Allison Chernow (Dresher, PA) has been selected as the University Athletic Association Women's Basketball Player of the Week following her efforts at the Transylvania Tournament.  It is the first time in her career that she has been selected for the award.  Chernow was also tabbed to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week.

The 5-foot-6 Chernow averaged a team-high 32.0 points, ending the weekend shooting 58.1 percent (18-of-31) from the floor, including, 73.3 percent (11-of-15) from three-point range, and 89.5 percent (17-of-19) from the foul line in contests against Transylvania and Denison. In addition, she paced the club with an average of 6.5 rebounds per outing.

In a double-overtime battle against Transylvania, Chernow totaled a career-high 39 points, the program's second-highest individual total, closing out the contest 13-of-19 from the floor with her field goal total tying the school's third-highest effort. Included in her offensive outburst was a nine-of-11 performance from three-point range that tied her with Hannah Lilly (vs. LaGrange, Nov. 26, 2013) for most treys in a game by an Emory player.  She followed that performance by tying for game scoring honors with a 25-point afternoon in a 69-57 victory over Denison. She sank five-of-12 field goal opportunities, including a pair of triples in four tries, and was successful on 13 (tying the school's fourth-highest game total)-of-15 attempts from the foul line. Chernow dialed up 11 crucial points in fourth quarter that helped the Eagles to a decisive 23-11 scoring edge. She also registered a team-leading eight rebounds and doled out four assists.

On the year, Allison is averaging 17.2 points and 4.8 rebounds per outing.

The Eagles, 3-2 on the season, return to action on Tuesday (Nov. 27) when they host The University of the South.
