Ashley Oldshue Earns UAA Basketball Honor

Emory University senior Ashley Oldshue (Glenview, IL) has been selected as the University Athletic Association Women's Basketball Co-Player of the Week after helping the Eagles to a win over the University of Rochester in the squad's regular-season finale.  She shares the honor with Case Western Reserve's Kara Hageman.  It is the fourth time this season and in her career that she has received the honor.

The 6-foot-2 Oldshue  paced all players with 24 points, knocking down a career-high 12 field goals in 15 attempts, as the Eagles defeated the Yellowjackets, 78-54, to raise their overall record to 19-6, 10-4 in the league. Oldshue's point total represented her 23rd double-figure scoring effort of the campaign and seventh of 20 or more points. In addition, she grabbed a game-high nine rebounds, the 14th time this year that she ranked as the club's top performer in that category.

At the close of the regular season, Oldshue stood fourth among UAA cagers in scoring (16.4 ppg), fifth in rebounding (8.1 rpg) and first in field goal percentage (.553).

Emory, 19-6 on the year, has earned a spot in the NCAA D-III Tournament and will battle Trine University on Friday, Mar. 1, on the campus of Thomas More College.  Tip is slated for 5:00 pm.
