Women's Basketball Stays Unbeaten; Downs LaGrange 84-72 on the Road

The Emory University women's basketball team finished off the season sweep of LaGrange College, taking the second meeting of the year from the Panthers by a score 84-72 Wednesday night at LaGrange.

For the second game in a row, senior Claire Brock reached the 30-point mark as she went for a new career-high 34 points thanks to a 15-for-16 night from the free throw line. Brock has now scored 20 or more points each game this season, helping Emory (4-0) get off to its best start to a season since 2016-17. With the back-to-back 30-plus point performances, she becomes the first player to score 30 points or more in consecutive games in program history.

Sophomore Morgan Laudick recorded a career high 15 points as the Eagles second leader scorer while juniors Izzy Munson and Paige Gross joined Brock and Laudick in double figures with 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Emory once again started off strong, scoring the first 11 points of the game before LaGrange got on the scoreboard past the midway point of the opening quarter. The Panthers fought back to eventually tie the score at 28 in the second quarter but an immediate 6-2 run pushed the Eagles back in front and was able to keep LaGrange at an arms length for the remainder of the night.

Emory returns to Atlanta for the start of a three-game homestand before the Thanksgiving holiday, beginning with the Emory Tip Off Classic this weekend at the WoodPEC. The Eagles are set to open the Classic on Saturday, hosting No. 15 ranked Mary Hardin-Baylor at 3:00 PM.
