The Emory women's basketball treated a home crowd to a 64-61 down-to-the wire triumph over Brandeis.

Stephanie Seibert led three Eagle double-figure scorers with 21 points while adding five rebounds.  Lynn Oberschmidt totaled all 14 of her points during the second half of play, ending the afternoon seven-of-14 from the floor.  Allison Reopel also contributed to the victory with a solid all-around performance that saw her dial up 11 points, a game-high 12 rebounds and four steals.

Emory led by a 50-40 count with 10:48 left in the contest and still maintained a nine-point cushion with 5:57 on the clock after Oberschmidt knocked down a jumper.  However, the Judges rallied with a 9-2 run, capped by a three-point by Lisa Pritzlaff, to draw to within a pair with 2:53 left.  A pair of makes from the charity stripe by Beth Byron extended Emory's edge to 62-57, but two free throws by Pritzlaff kept the visitors within striking distance. After Oberschmidt and Pritzlaff exchanged baskets, the Eagles maintained a 64-61 lead with eight ticks on the clock.  After Emory misfired on the front end of a one-and-one, Brandeis had a chance to knot the score but a three-pointer in the waning moments missed the mark, sealing the win for Emory.

The Eagles finished with a slight advantage in field goal shooting, connecting an 39.1 percent of their attempts compared to 36.4 percent for Brandeis. The Judges posted a 44-35 bulge on the glass but that was negated by 21 turnovers to Emory's 11 miscues.
