Former Emory basketball standout Savannah Morgan returns to the program as an assistant coach for the 2016-17 campaign.
Morgan, who starred for the Eagles from 2010-11 through 2013-14, played a school-record 103 games, 96 as a starter, and closed out her career in the No. 1 position on the school's all-time chart in both assists (526) and assists per game (5.1 apg). She logged a school-record 3,102 minutes of action and wound up as the program's seventh-most prolific scorer with 1,155 points while figuring prominently in a host of other career categories including steals (4th, 202), three-point field goals (5th, 108) and field goals (7th, 442). A First Team All-University Athletic Association selection as a junior and senior, she claims the program's top two seasonal assists average (5.7 apg in 2011-12 and 5.4 apg in 2013-14).
After her collegiate career, she played professionally overseas for a couple of years before assuming her current post.
A native of San Jose, California, she earned her degree in sociology from Emory in 2014.
