Emory Women's Soccer Announces Early Decision Commitments

The Emory University Women's Soccer program has announced the early decision commitments that will join the team for the fall later this calendar year. Included in the group are Lily Dresner, Jordan Fitzgerald, Samantha Hilsee, Caroline Moore, Anne Otterbein, Katie Taylor, Yasmin Toy and Kelly Walsh.


Lily Dresner – Los Angeles, CA – Brentwood School – Santa Monica United

 

 

Dresner has spent the past four seasons as a member of the Brentwood School varsity team, earning First Team All-League honors in 2015-16. She served as a team captain during the 2016-17 season, helping the team reach the CIF Southern Sectional Championship. Dresner has also been a member of the Santa Monica United Club team since 2009, serving as a co-captain since 2013.

 

 

 


Jordan Fitzgerald – Fairfax, VA – Oakton High School – VYS Thunder Black

 

 

Fitzgerald was a four-year member of the Oakton High School varsity program, garnering the Coaches Award, First Team All-Conference and Second Team All-Region honors as a junior and was a Second Team All-Conference selection as a sophomore. Off the field, she was a National Honor Society member and was named a Scholar Athlete all four seasons. Fitzgerald additionally has been a member of the VYS Thunder Black Club team since the 2009 campaign, serving as a team captain for three years. Fitzgerald was a standout track performer as well during her time at Oakton, earning the Indoor Track MVP award and was a District Champion, All-Region and State Qualifier in the 55m, 300m and 4x200m Relay.

 

 


Samantha Hilsee – Windermere, FL – Olympia High School – Orlando City ECNL

 

Hilsee has been a member of the Olympia High School women's soccer program the past four seasons, serving as a co-captain during her junior and senior seasons. As a senior, Hilsee registered 21 goals and nine assists for 51 points en route to being named to the All-Orange County Metro West Conference Team and the team's MVP. Hilsee added an All-Star Orange County Team selection and was named the MVP at the 2017 Florida Athletic Coaches Association All-Star Classic. Off the field, Hilsee was a member of the Advanced Placement Experience (APEX), an AP Scholar with Distinction, a member of the National, English and Science Honor Societies, and was part of Mu Alpha Theta, Rho Kappa, DECA and Key clubs. Hilsee also spent the past three years as a member of the Orlando City Youth ENCL team, leading the club to the ODP National Championships in 2016 and 2015 Champions League ECNL Finals.

 

 


Caroline Moore – Marlborough, MA – Groton School – Boston Breakers ECNL

Moore spent the past four seasons playing for the varsity team at the Groton School, serving as a team captain as a senior and earning All-League Honorable Mention status and Team MVP honors in 2016 and All-League kudos in 2015. Additionally, Moore was a member of the Boston Breakers ENCL club team the past four years, helping the team to back-to-back NPL Championships in 2015 and 2016 as well as advancing to the US Club Nationals in 2015 and 2016. Moore also participated in track, hockey and Olympic weightlifting in high school.

 


Anne Otterbein – Newport Beach, CA – St. Margaret's Episcopal School – Slammers FC

Otterbein, a four-year starter for the St. Margaret's Episcopal varsity team, recorded 17 goals and 15 assists for 49 points during her playing career. She helped the program to back-to-back League titles in 2015 and 2016 and a CIF Championship in 2014. Otterbein, a NSCAA All-Region Team Player, garnered First Team All-League honors as a junior and was named All-League CIF and Second Team All-League as a sophomore. At the club level, Otterbein spent time with the Slammers FC team since the 2012 campaign. She also competed in track and field in high school and was a member of the Honor Roll and Head Masters Honor Roll.

 

                                                                           

 


Katie Taylor – Evanston, IL – Loyola Academy – FC United – St. Louis University

 

 

 

Taylor, the lone transfer in the group, plans to join the Eagles after spending time at the Division I level with St. Louis University. Previously, she was a four-year varsity starter for Loyola Academy. During her senior season she served as a team captain, earning All-Conference and All-Area recognition and earned Chicagoland Soccer "MVP of the Match" honors at the Pepsi Showdown. As a junior, Taylor was named Second Team All-Area. She helped Loyola Academy win conference and regional championships in each of her four seasons and helped captured the 2012 Pepsi Showdown title. Taylor also spent five seasons playing club soccer with FC United, serving as a team captain, and assisted the team to the MRL Premier League Championship.

 

 



Yasmin Toy – Houston, TX – St. John's High School – Albion Hurricanes FC

 

 

Toy was a three-year member of the St. John's High School varsity program from 2013-2016. She registered at least 20 points all three seasons with the team including a career-best 33 points (10G, 13A) in 21 games during the 2014-15 season. She totaled 24 goals and 32 assists across her three seasons with St. John's to finish with 70 career points. Toy also played for the Albion Hurricanes FC since 2015 at the club level.

 

 

 

 


Kelly Walsh – Old Tappan, NJ – Northern Valley Regional High School Old Tappan – World Class ECNL

Walsh has been a member of the Northern Valley Regional High School Old Tappan varsity team the past four seasons and has been named one of the top-20 players in the North I region the past two years. She closed out her career with 122 points (45G, 34A) and was a four-time Big North National Division selection including three First Team honors. As a senior, she served as a co-captain and was named to the First Team All-Bergan County and All-North Jersey All-Star teams. She recorded a career-high 50 points (18G, 14A) as a junior, leading to First Team All-Bergan County and Second Team All-North Jersey acclaim. She added Third Team All-Bergan County accolades as a sophomore following a 22-point (9G, 4A) campaign. In addition, Walsh has played at the club level since    2012 with the World Class ENCL squad.
