Emory Women's Soccer Posts 2-0 Victory over Pacific Lutheran

The Emory University Women's Soccer team posted its second straight shutout to begin the season, defeating Pacific Lutheran University, 2-0, Sunday afternoon in San Antonio, TX.

Freshman Lindsey Breskow and senior Abbe McCarter provided the offense for the Eagles in the contest. Breskow notched her first career goal to open the scoring in the ninth minute, knocking in a pass from junior Caroline Kolski. McCarter secured the win for the Eagles with her insurance goal in the 87th, netting her second goal of the year off the feed from sophomore Caroline Moore.

Emory dominated the shot totals for the second straight game, finishing with a 25-6 edge in shots, 11-3 in shots on goal. Breskow led all players with five shots, three on target, with Moore and junior Shivani Beall posting four shots, two on target for the Eagles. Senior Dani Staffin made three saves during the 90 minutes to record her second clean sheet of the season.

Emory returns to Atlanta to host Oglethorpe University in the home opener Thursday night. Kickoff from the Woodruff PE Center is set for 7:00 PM.
