The 23rd-ranked Emory University Women's Soccer team kept its NCAA tournament dreams alive on Saturday, defeating the University of Rochester, 3-1, at Fauver Stadium in Rochester, New York.

The Eagles extend their season-long unbeaten streak to seven with the win including five straight victories to conclude the regular season with a 13-4-1 overall record and finish in third place in the UAA with a conference mark of 4-2-1. Rochester finishes the year 9-7-1 and 2-5 in conference play. The 13 wins and third place UAA finish are the best by an Emory unit since the 2013 season.

Goals by freshman Lindsey Breskow and sophomore Samantha Hilsee over the final 23 minutes of action proved to be difference, helping to break a 1-1 tie to lead the Eagles to the two-goal win.

Breskow netted the go-ahead goal in the 68th minute as she tapped in the deflection off the Rochester keeper following a cross by junior Shivani Beall. Hilsee then scored to ice the game in the 83rd, heading in a long Lily Dresner free kick for her sixth goal of the season, tying her career-high.

Sophomore Caroline Moore opened the scoring on the afternoon, scoring her fifth goal of the campaign in the 17th minute by tapping in a chance to the right post after the cross by senior Sophia Dillon on the left wing.

Senior Dani Staffin maintained the 1-0 lead for the visitors, coming up with the save on a Shayna Levy penalty kick opportunity and then again on the Emily Henry rebound attempt in the 54th minute. However, the Yellowjackets were able to find the equalizer in the 55th as Kerri Eden slotted one past Staffin into the right corner.

Jorie Freitag recorded the last scoring chance for the home team, drilling the crossbar in the 62nd minute, as the Emory defense did not allow another shot on frame by Rochester over the final 28 minutes of the contest.

The Eagles now await their fate as they hope to receive one of the 21 at-large bids for the 2018 NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament. The 64-team field will be announced Monday, November 5th at 1:30 PM EST with the NCAA Selection Show on NCAA.com.
