Women's Soccer Releases 2019 Schedule

The Emory University women's soccer team, fresh off its first trip to the NCAA postseason in five seasons, has announced its 2019 schedule which is set to get underway Friday, August 30th against the Sewanee Tigers.

The Eagles' 19-game slate features 11 contests to be played at the Woodruff PE Center. Over the last three seasons, the Eagles have lost just four times at the WoodPEC, posting a 19-4-1 record on their home field.

The approaching schedule also boasts 10 matchups against programs that qualified for the NCAA Division III tournament in 2018 including Final Four teams in Washington University in St. Louis and Christopher Newport University. Of those 10 schools, seven finished the season inside the top-25 or receiving votes in the final United Soccer Coaches national rankings.

The Eagles open the season with home dates against the Tigers followed by a Sunday matinee against Lee University on September 1st before taking on three straight foes that hail from the Cavalier state: at Christopher Newport (Sept. 6th), vs. Virginia Wesleyan at CNU (Sept. 7th) and at home on September 14th against the University of Lynchburg in a rematch of last season's highly contested NCAA Second Round matchup.

Following the match with the Hornets, the Eagles will host Mount St. Joseph's on September 15th in the first matchup between the schools since 2000. Emory will then round out the month of September with four matches against USA South and SAA competition: at Maryville (Sept. 21st), at Covenant (Sept. 24th), Centre (Sept. 28th) and Rhodes College (Sept. 29th).

The Eagles begin October with a pair of road tilts, beginning with the UAA opener at Chicago on October 5th before an in-state contest against Berry on October 8th. Emory returns home for a date against the Bears of WashU on October 12th before closing out the road portion of the schedule on the 18th and 20th against Case Western Reserve and Carnegie Mellon.

Emory welcomes Huntingdon to the WoodPEC on October 27th for the final non-conference match of the year before rounding out the schedule with three consecutive home UAA contests against Brandeis (Nov. 1st), New York (Nov. 3rd) and Rochester (Nov. 9th).

The Eagles, coming off a 14-5-1 season under Head Coach Sue Patberg, will look to make its second straight trip to the postseason when the season begins later this fall. For the full 2019 schedule, please click here.
