Women's Soccer Selected to Fourth Straight NCAA Tournament; Will Host Opening Rounds

For the fourth consecutive season, the Emory University women's soccer team is headed to the postseason, receiving an at-large selection to the 64-team field as announced earlier Monday afternoon.

The Eagles (12-4) were also chosen as one of the 16 opening round host sites for this upcoming weekend, marking the first time Emory will play in front of its home fans in the NCAA tournament since 2013.

Emory draws in-state foe Piedmont University (12-5-3) in the first round on Saturday after the Lions secured a berth following their win over Maryville in the CCS championship. It will be second time the two programs have met this season with the Eagles earning the 1-0 decision back on October 20th in Demorest.

In the other opening round matchup, Washington & Lee (14-1-5) will oppose Centre College (15-3-1). The Generals gained at at-large selection following a semifinal run in the ODAC tournament while Centre punched its NCAA bid after capturing the SAA championship over Sewanee.

This will be Emory's 20th appearance in the NCAA tournament in program history and 12th under Head Coach Sue Patberg. To see the entire 64-team field, please click here.
