Emory University freshman Gabrielle Clark won all three of her first singles matches, leading the Eagles to their second-consecutive ITA Division III Indoor Championship. Clark clinched the team victory for Emory in the first round match against 15th-ranked DePauw University, defeating regionally ranked Janelle Arita 6-2, 6-2, after winning her first doubles match 9-7.  The following day, she upset the Atlantic South Region’s top-ranked player, Carnegie Mellon’s Laura Chen, with a 6-1, 6-4 win, after losing the doubles contest 8-4.  Clark capped off her weekend with a win over the University of Chicago’s Kendra Higgins (ranked third in the Central Region) 6-1, 6-0, after losing in doubles 8-4.  Clark now stands at 11-4 in singles play this year, and 10-5 in doubles matches.  Her performance has helped Emory to a 6-2 record this year.
