(Tennis) Emory University sophomore Malavika Padmanabhan won both of her singles matches and one of her two doubles contests at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships in Altamonte Springs, FL last weekend.  Padmanabhan accounted for two of Emory’s points during a 6-3 win in the semifinals against 11th-ranked Washington University (Mo.), winning the second-doubles match 8-6, and her fourth singles match in straight sets, 6-0, 6-2.  After losing 8-5 at second doubles against the sixth-ranked University of Chicago in the championship match on Sunday, she bounced back with a 6-3, 7-6(3)  win at fourth singles, despite a 5-4 team loss.  Padmanabhan improved to 14-3 in singles play and 17-4 in doubles action this season.  Second-ranked Emory, which finished second at the UAA Championships, is now 15-5 this season.
