Harding/Su Advance to Saturday's NCAA DIII Doubles Semifinals; Harding Reaches Singles Semis

Junior Bridget Harding advanced to the semifinals of the singles draw and later reached the semifinals in the doubles bracket with senior Katarina Su as the NCAA Division III Individual Championships continued on Friday at the Champions Tennis Club in Chattanooga, TN.

Harding opened the morning with a straight set victory over Washington and Lee's Brooke Donnelly, 6-4, 6-1, to move into the semifinals to face Wesleyan's Eudice Chong. Unfortunately, Harding saw her run end in the semis as Chong, the reigning two-time NCAA DIII Singles Champion, defeated Harding in straight sets 6-2, 6-0. Harding finishes the singles portion of her junior year with a 30-11 record, joining former Eagles Mary Ellen Gordon, Jolyn Taylor and Gabrielle Clark as the only players in program history to record 30 or more wins in a single season.

Senior Michelle Satterfield also saw her season come to a close in the singles draw on Friday as she fell to Washington University's Rebecca Ho, 6-4, 7-6 (3) in the Quarterfinals. Satterfield concludes a tremendous career with 87 career singles victories, the fourth-most in program history.

Harding and Su rounded out play for the Eagles on Friday afternoon, taking down Pomona-Pitzer's Emily Chen and Maryann Zhao in the Quarterfinals of the doubles draw. The Emory pairing erased a 4-1 second set deficit en route to the 6-3, 6-4 win.

Harding and Su will now face Claremont-Mudd-Scripps' Nicole Tan and Lindsay Brown in Saturday's semifinals, beginning at 11:30 AM EST. The NCAA DIII Doubles Championship match will follow at approximately 2:00 PM EST.
