Senior Bridget Harding was named the University Athletic Association Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week Monday afternoon after leading the Eagles to their second consecutive ITA National Team Indoors championship. The weekly award is Harding's third of the season and 12th for her career.
Harding went undefeated in Emory's three matches during the tournament, going 3-0 at both first singles and first doubles. She posted 6-2, 7-6 (0) and 6-3, 6-4 decisions in her opening round singles matches against Sewanee and Carnegie Mellon before recording a 6-4, 6-3 victory for match point against Pomona-Pitzer. She added decisive wins at all three first doubles matches over the weekend playing with freshman Ysabel Gonzalez-Rico including an 8-5 victory in the title match against PPC.
The Eagles return to the courts on Saturday, March 24th against Division II's Point Loma University.
