The top-ranked and top-seeded Emory University Women's Tennis team tries for its sixth consecutive and 29th overall University Athletic Association title as the 31st UAA Championships begin on Friday in Altamonte Springs, Florida.

The Eagles (10-4) begin their title defense on Friday morning, facing eighth-seeded University of Rochester (7-8) at 9:00 AM. The winner of the first round match will face either fourth-seeded and 13th-ranked Washington University (12-5) or fifth-seeded and 16th-ranked Case Western Reserve University (13-3) on Saturday in the semifinals.

On the other side of the bracket, 9th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University (17-3) will face 21st-ranked Brandeis University (10-6) in a matchup of the No.-2 and No.-7 seeds with 10th-ranked Chicago (15-3) taking on 17th-ranked New York University (8-0) in the No.-3 and No.-6 seeds.

The semifinal matches will both be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday with the championship match to be played at 9:00 AM Sunday morning.

At last year's UAA Championships, Emory blanked UR, 9-0, before defeating Carnegie Mellon, 7-2, in the semifinals. In the championship match, the Eagles and Chicago battled to the wire with Bridget Harding earning the decisive match point to seal the title for Emory.
