Emory University freshman Stephanie Taylor has been named the University Athletic Association Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week as announced Monday afternoon. It is the first weekly honor of Taylor's career.
Taylor helped the Eagles to their 11th straight NCAA Quarterfinal appearance this weekend, going 2-0 at second doubles with senior Anna Fuhr against Hanover (8-1) and Sewanee (8-5) and notched one of the two clinching singles points against the Tigers, winning 6-0, 6-1 on court six. She was also in front 6-0, 5-1 at third singles vs. Hanover when play was halted.
Emory will face the University of Chicago in the NCAA Elite Eight on Monday, May 21st with a start yet to be announced. The match will be contested at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center in Claremont, CA.
