Sophomore Ysabel Gonzalez-Rico captured the ITA Cup Division III Singles National Championship on Saturday at the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, GA.
Gonzalez-Rico becomes just the seventh ITA Division III singles champion in program history and second in three years (Bridget Harding in 2016) as she defeated John Carroll's Lauren O'Malley in straight sets 6-4, 6-1 in the title match.
Gonzalez-Rico will now be one of 64 players to be entered into the singles draw the Oracle ITA Fall National Championships in Surprise, AZ from November 7-11.
